Madhur Bhandarkar’s 'Calendar Girls' may have the same luck as 'Phantom'
The latest directorial venture of eminent Bolllywood director Madhur Bhandarkar's Calendar Girls has been in the limelight for quite some time. First the movie gained hype due to the lead character's role being inspired by Veena Malik and now after the release of its trailer, rumors are that the movie also features anti-Pakistan content.
It may likely be facing a ban just like Phantom did. The trailer of the movie shows a protest in which people are holding placards stating ‘No more Pakistani Models.’
Taking notice of all the social media rage, the director of the movie Bhandarkar, tweeted saying the movie does not feature any content that may hurt sentiments of people in Pakistan. In another tweet, he also requested the Pakistan Censor Board to watch the movie before putting a ban on it.
The movie highlights the issues and problems faced by models who pose for calendars. There is also a character in the movie that is inspired by Veena Malik.
